MNHS Post-Turkey Walk at the Quinapoxet Trail

It's a post Thanksgiving walk! Work off the mashed potatoes and gravy and that extra slice of pie by joining us for a little exercise! The Quinapoxet trail is an easy 3-mile section of trail on the rail bed that follows the Quinapoxet River. Park at Thomas Street adjacent to the Quinapoxet River just off Route 140 in West Boylston. ( I-190 take Exit 5, Route 140 south one mile. 140 bears left over causeway, continue straight ahead to first parking area on the right.) Bring water, headlamp/flashlight and wear clothes appropriate for the weather. Meet at 6:30 p.m.

Kicking off the Holiday Season

Monthly Dinner Federal Hill In Providence

meet at 3:00 p.m. at the Park and Ride interchange of Rte 146 and Rte 20 or at 4:00 p.m. under the arch on Atwells Avenue, as we travel to Federal Hill, Providence, RI. Though the Hill is traditionally famous for its Italian heritage, Indian, Chinese, Mexican, and Japanese cuisines are now part of the Atwells Avenue dining experience. With so many venues and so little time, we can customize our Stroll route to fit our taste. We may choose to explore family friendly restaurants like Caserta's Pizzeria, Chef Ho's, or Jessie's, while others may seek out upscale establishments like Eclectic Grille, Aqua Viva. or the Blue Grotto. Whiteface hike & slide!

Join us for a winter weekend in the Whites January 23rd-25th! We'll be spending the weekend at a hostel in North Conway, NH. There will be an official leader-led AMC hike up Whiteface Mt, 8.8 miles long, steep, for advanced hikers (butt sliding fun but optional). Winter gear a must for this (gear list can be sent upon request). The second AMC leader-led hike is TBD and based on participants' levels & interests. Skiers welcome to join us for weekend socializing. Skiing will not be AMC-led but skiers can join us for group meals. The group meals are Saturday dinner and Sunday brunch. Instructions to secure lodging (to be done by participant) will be shared upon successful screening for the trip (skiers will determine own level and should indicate this plan upon contacting registrar). $15 for group meals to be collected by Jen Eaton in advance. Total # on trip determined by # of skiers. Limit 8-10 on hikes.

Winter in the Whites

Join us for a weekend of winter fun. We have reserved Shapleigh Bunkhouse at the Highland Center for our exclusive use. Sat. x-c skiing at Bretton Woods. Bretton Woods has trails for all abilities. Rentals and Lessons are also available. We will have two groups, an easier paced group and a int/adv. group. Sun. 1/2 day winter hike to the Sugerloafs. Not enough snow? Then we will hike both days. Cost $65 members, $70 non-members includes 2 nights lodging (shared bunkroom), 2 breakfasts and happy hour on Sat. Reserve Early Space is limited. Payment in full due by Feb 10th to reserve spot.
